And then here's the "other side of the coin".....

apparently.......this is also attributed to Plato and perhaps is eerily reminiscant of what we experience today...

" any musical innovation is full of danger to the whole state, and ought to be prohibited "

Well..here's another quote....

This one came from PLATO...commenting on the subject of Music..

"Music is Moral Law. It gives Soul to the Universe, Wings to the mind, flight to the Imagination.
.....It is essence of Order and leads to all that is good, true and beautiful"

you gotta dig it.......

Remasters can be good...

I just finished listening to the remastered versions of Can's Future Days, Unlimited Edition, Landed and Soon Over Babaluma.(thanks Hansi!!) Boy, they sound goooood. It's like listening to them for the first time all over again. Also the CD edition of Neu!'s first, listening to Hallogallo reminded me that it was that song that Peter was playing on Alien Soundtracks one day in 1990 or so, which prompted me to phone the station and the rest is history. (I had a vinyl copy of Neu! '75 which I bought at Tower Records in Buenos Aires of all places, and loved it.)

Krautrock Meeting 2005 DVD

It's finally available here in NTSC Format......
The DVD of some of the legendary Kraut Rockers re-uniting for the german Rock Palast TV show.....
The DVD gives a hint of how great they must have been in their heyday, but overall does not dissapoint. The standout performance in my opinion is the GURU GURU....this band still fronted ( or pushed from behind his drum kit ) by Mani Neumeier, is full of vitality and drive...and, they perform a killer version of "Der Elektrolurch"
Amon Duul 2 are a bit of a dissapointment on the first couple of songs, but all is forgiven by the time they launch in to "DEUTSCH NEPAL"
EPITAPH, JANE, BIRTH CONTROL & KARTHAGO all turn in inspired Rock performances, you can tell they are having Fun after all these years.
There is lot's of Bonus material on this 2 DVD set, over 217 minutes of material, including band biographies and Interviews with Mani & Chris Karrer & others.
Should be available in Canada as an Import via most Music stores or from SPV.de
Not sure if he has it posted yet, but make sure you also visit Archie @ www.eurock.com where you will also find all the Popol Vuh and Klaus Schulze re-issues
